It’s easy to find yourself at a stalling point in Diablo Immortal, especially not that it’s bursting to the seams with microtransactions.
Grinding out experience is an activity that new players often find themselves in, but when it comes to Diablo Immortal, even the veterans can’t escape it. Until you max out the paragon experience, you’ll find yourself logging in daily to level up your character. Things would be easier if there were only one way to level up, but with Diablo Immortal’s design, it’s best to diversify your leveling strategies. Avoid Overspending on Gear Upgrades
You can upgrade all your rare and legendary Diablo Immortal items and gear at the blacksmith in any town in the game. It’s one of the great ways to get a massive power boost, as upgraded items will outpace the gear score of magic items that drop from the same areas of the campaign. While it’s tempting to do so, upgrades cost a lot of Diablo Immortal Gold and materials; you’ll also eventually drop new gear that’ll beat your upgraded rares/legendaries. You can transfer upgrade ranks to your unused items within the same slot.
Suppose you drop a new item with a higher gear score or better stats than your character currently has in the same slot. In that case, we highly recommend transferring the upgraded rank to the new item instead of wasting time and materials on upgrading multiple weapons.
Avoid Fully Clearing Zones
Most ARPG veterans will be familiar with this tactic, but it’s crucial to avoid thoroughly clearing zones if you’re a newbie. You don’t need to kill every monster you see in every zone–you’ll only slow down if you do.
You’ll indeed need to defeat all enemies when you’re in certain quest areas or doing dungeons, but this step isn’t necessary for overworld zones. You can run from point A to point B, killing whatever monsters you find on the main path while gaining a sizeable XP amount. Adopting this method will give you more than enough experience to keep from falling behind the recommended level for the campaign/story. This is because you will earn more XP from completing quests instead of killing mobs.
Complete Your Bounties and Contracts
If you’re used to grinding in MMO, you’ll know how Bounties work. Bounties ask you to kill many monsters that belong to a specific type or complete a dungeon. This drags the process out and is–for the most part–will take up a lot of your time. There’s no real way around this, but thankfully, the XP rewards you get from doing Bounties are hefty, making them one of the best ways to get through the level gates.
You can claim up to eight Bounties a day from Bounty Boards. These boards can be located in Westmarch or other towns, and you can earn Battle Points for completing them. Once you finish your Bounties, head back to the board, where the quartermaster will give you items, gold, and your XP reward.
If Bounties aren’t your thing, you can also do Contracts. You can unlock Contracts once you hit level 40 and join either the Templar or Shadow groups. They’re like three-tier Bounties where they require you to finish three types of objectives before returning to the base.
Grind the Battle Pass
Like most F2P games these days, Diablo Immortal has a battle pass that you can access in the codex found in the menu. There are 40 tiers to level up, and each of them grants a large number of experience points and items per level. You can opt to grind out the accessible version of the battle pass, but the “Empowered Battle Pass” also costs $4.99 if you want extra rewards. If money is merely an object to you, the $14.99 version has a rank boost to help with the grind and cosmetic items to unlock.
By completing a swathe of different missions, you’ll earn Battle Points and move up the ranks. Quests are larger objectives than the daily missions, and they primarily consist of killing elite monsters or equipping legendary items. Then there are the Guide missions which have you completing main quest-type objectives such as hitting level milestones. If you opt to empower your battle pass, you get to have an extra quest per day.
Leveling Up is the Key
The Diablo franchise has always emphasized leveling up to unlock better loot for your character. Its latest iteration, Diablo Immortal, shakes up the usual routine players are familiar with and combines it with freemium tactics that we see in other mobile games. Reaching the endgame, if you’re the type that doesn’t want to grind, will require a lot of Diablo Immortal Platinum.
