Apple says that facial recognition technology has been used for decades in other industries like security cameras, and now they’re bringing this technology to the masses with their newest smartphone release.

For iPhone 13, Apple made just minor adjustments to the 12-megapixel, f/1.6 aperture rear wide-angle camera.

The new wide lens provides sensor-shift optical picture stabilisation because of the new diagonal camera orientation. Apple claims that it collects 47% more light than it did previously.

The ultra-wide-angle camera represents the biggest improvement over the iPhone 12 in low light performance. For the first time, it can now take images in night mode.

For the iPhone 13 models, Apple is still using the “Ceramic Shield” material, which offers superior drop protection. Nano-ceramic crystals are infused into glass to create the Ceramic Shield display cover.
